Day 5: Journey to Scotland . . . the Train Ride

Day 5 began with an early morning wakeup call as we had to check out and wait for our buses to take us to King's Cross to catch our charted train.

We stood in the cool morning air and began to mingle with other students from other schools.  We finally boarded the buses and arrived at King's Cross.  We boarded the charted train and mingled some more with other students from Florida, Kansas, and California.  The long 5 hour train ride came to an end we were in Scotland.

Next was bus tour of Edinburgh and we walked the Royal Mile.  The energy and performances were overwhelming.  Seeing the different performers entertain audience members and others trying various ways to get people to come to their shows, made us excited about our turn, possibly tomorrow.

We then had a bite to eat . . . fish and chips with vinegar and salt and a battered deep fried Mars Bar.  Then it was back on the bus and to our dorms at Pollock Halls.  Here we are all in single rooms, but we have telephone service and internet service.  Mr. Kitsu and the tech crew had a two hour meeting, while the rest of the group got time to rest.

Tomorrow is our tech rehearsal and now the real work begins.  It will be exciting to see the theatre where we will give four performances of Under the Influence.
